« Development: a grand theory? – Main – Fairness in social housing »
I've just watched the BBC London Mayor special, London Decides (opens video), in which Andrew Neil compered a head-to-head battle between the 3 main mayoral candidates.
The programme was a joke. There was very little policy discussion (I'm none the wiser on any of the positions the candidates are taking) and it seemed like a bizarre, expensive version of Have I Got News For You.
Unfortunately, the governance of London is not a joke; it's not a circus. It's a vital issue that will have a knock-on effect for the rest of Great Britain. Come on, everyone: let's not stoop to the level of the flippant (but influential) few, like Andrew Neil, and take the London mayoral election seriously.
